Hey i didn’t get one !!!!
The excitement was overwhelming when I received the request to create a pair of C2 Customs for Andrew Jenks. For those who are unfamiliar, Jenks is a world renown documentarian, producing award winning pieces such as HBO’s “Room 335“, ESPN’s “30 for 30: The Zen of Bobby V“, and MTV’s smash hit series “World of Jenks“. I knew working with a talented and dynamic individual would provide me with an amazing creative foundation to create a pair of kicks unlike anything else. It was my goal to capture Jenks in a pair of sneakers.
There are several themes that are implemented throughout this pair of C2 Customs, all of which are grounded in Jenks as an individual and a professional. Jenks is a die-hard New York Knicks fan and a season ticket holder at Madison Square Garden. Several elements reflect this, including the colorway, heel graphics, pull tabs, and insole. Jenks is also an artist who communicates messages through his medium of choice: film. To represent this I created a repeating pattern based off of a different type of medium that is core to Jenks’ New York heritage: graffiti. Hand painted on the toe and lace panels, I created this pattern to be balanced between a displayable work of art and a wearable piece of streetwear . Story via C2
